Newsy > Starlings at Richmond West Dike. Test shot to check exposure levels of a dark bird against a bright sky. Original was fairly underexposed so this version is post processed a fair bit for brightness using curves. It has washed out the blue sky.

Newsy > Rufous Sided Towhee at Richmond Nature Park. Hand held with Sigma 50-500mm. A fair bit of post processing on this shot - cropped, levels, usm sharpening, white balance, and Shadows/Highlights tool to try to bring out detail in the dark head. Maybe made it a little blue-ish.

Newsy > Dark Eyed Junco at Richmond Nature Park. Early in the learning curve for this new camera - the Sony Alpha A700 + Sigma 50-500mm lens (aka Bigma). This was hand held at 500mm, 1/100, f8, iso800; cropped, minor noise reduction, some minor PP including histogram levels clip, contrast, sharpening, saturation. I had DRO at a higher level than standard which likely caused the noise to be accentuated. The more I look at this shot, the more I like the light. Pastels?
