A fisherman you'd think? Nope.... that's not my boat or equipment and I have only been
out once since that shot was taken in 1993. But I've seldom laughed louder or longer
than that day!

Tyee (37 lbs) Spring salmon (aka King or Chinook) at Rivers Inlet, British Columbia,
Canada, August 1993. Took about 65 minutes to get it into the boat. Several misses
that day as well plus a few Northern Coho in the 10 to 15lb range.

The next year, same spot, same again... plus one morning at sunrise we were treated to
the spectacle of a mother Killer Whale showing her calf how to chase salmon between
our boats. At one point I could have reached out and touched her dorsal fin. As it was, I
was slightly drenched by her blow.

Absolutely a beautiful area.

Newsy > Digicam #1 - This was my first digicam, a Canon G1 with accessory Lensmate adapter that allows me to attach various lens such as UV, Macro, Polarizer & more. 3.1MP, 3x Optical Zoom. It was still working in the summer of 2006 but far too many hot & dead pixels to allow capturing imags to be enjoyable. I have not used it since the purchase of my second camera.

Acquired December 23, 2000.

.
Newsy > Digicam #2 - a Panasonic FZ20, 5MP, 12X Stabilized Optical Zoom, f2.8 wide to f2.8 tele.

Update: Sept 2006 - getting tired of the noise in the images from this camera. So much progress in digicames since buying this one.

Acquired December 16, 2004.
