A fisherman you'd think? Nope.... that's not my boat or equipment and I have only been
out once since that shot was taken in 1993. But I've seldom laughed louder or longer
than that day!
Tyee (37 lbs) Spring salmon (aka King or Chinook) at Rivers Inlet, British Columbia,
Canada, August 1993. Took about 65 minutes to get it into the boat. Several misses
that day as well plus a few Northern Coho in the 10 to 15lb range.
The next year, same spot, same again... plus one morning at sunrise we were treated to
the spectacle of a mother Killer Whale showing her calf how to chase salmon between
our boats. At one point I could have reached out and touched her dorsal fin. As it was, I
was slightly drenched by her blow.
